Manchester United Set to Secure Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year left on her deal, is known as a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the WSL team.
Departure from Munich was expected after she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the club's supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Consistent Goal Threat to Boost the Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing the German international coincides with a period when United seem to be gathering positive momentum.
Recent on-pitch successes feature securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The acquisition of Sweden defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The contract extension for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since arriving in 2023.
