Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
