English Premier League Headlines: Cole Palmer Set for The Blues Comeback; Idrissa Gueye's Failed Red Card Appeal Mystery

First Story: Key Player Palmer Available for High-Stakes Capital Clash with Arsenal

The Blues head coach Enzo Maresca stated on Friday that Cole Palmer is set to return for the team's significant Premier League encounter against local opponents Arsenal.

The 23-year-old English midfielder had been sidelined due to a broken toe suffered after an accidental occurrence.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca commented. “Everyone is happy.”

This season, Palmer has featured in just four games in all tournaments, netting two goals.

Since his arrival from City in the previous year, he has notched 45 scores and 29 helpers in 101 appearances for the London club.

“He is our most valuable asset, we are delighted he is back, we need to give him time to be 100% fit,” Maresca added. “He has done fantastic in the past and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

2. The Toffees Get No Reason for Rejected Gueye Red Card Challenge

Everton were unsuccessful in their challenge against Idrissa Gueye's red card for an on-field altercation with fellow player Michael Keane during the squad's single-goal triumph at Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Senegal midfielder was dismissed just 13 minutes into the match after hitting Keane during a dispute over a poor pass.

Gueye promptly expressed regret, and the teammates appeared reconciled afterwards in a mock social media video.

However, the appeal against the red card was turned down, and Gueye must serve a three-match ban, leaving Everton depleted for their next match against Newcastle United.

“We challenged the decision and it was rejected,” manager David Moyes said. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

When asked about any further fallout from the event, Moyes remarked: “The matter was resolved instantly, it was done, that was it, we moved on rapidly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

3. Wissa Trains with Newcastle for First Time since Injury

Newcastle United's new acquisition Yoane Wissa has trained with his squad for the first time since sustaining a knee injury soon after his move from Brentford in the autumn.

Head coach Eddie Howe confirmed the development on Friday but kept private a potential return date for the 29-year-old.

Newcastle signed the striker for £55m to fill the void left by Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool for a British record transfer fee.

Unfortunately, Wissa was injured while on national team duty before he could make his debut for Newcastle.

“His recovery is going smoothly, he trained with us for the first time on midweek, so I was very happy with how he looked,” Howe commented. “That’s his first time competitively with the group. Let’s see how he reacts today.”

Howe continued: “We have a target return date, but it’s probably best if I withhold that information. We aim to avoid letting people down. Of course, we want to include him as quickly.”

In other news, Kieran Trippier will be out of action for a month with a hamstring issue.

4. The Reds' Slump ‘Doesn’t Matter’, Insists West Ham Boss Nuno

West Ham United head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has stated that Liverpool' dip in performance “doesn’t really matter” as his side prepares to face the struggling Premier League champions.

The Liverpool manager's team has been defeated in six of their previous seven league matches, falling out of the top 10 of the table.

However, Nuno highlighted that there can be no room for overconfidence when the teams clash on Sunday at the London Stadium.

“The Reds are a strong team and in football, what counts is what you do on the day,” Nuno remarked. “We are preparing to play the title winners, players that are talented and capable of doing great things, so we have to get ready.

“The past of the outcomes before, the performance of the teams, is not that important. It is about the match day. Aware that we are going to face a very good team, that has players capable of doing wonderful things, so we have to prepare thoroughly, to compete.”

The Hammers will have available Lucas Paquetá after his suspension, while Crysencio Summerville and Dinos Mavropanos are progressing in their recovery from injury.

Fifth Story: Morgan Gibbs-White in Contention for Forest against The Seagulls

Nottingham Forest's boss Sean Dyche is optimistic that Morgan Gibbs-White will be available for the team's at home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on the weekend.

The English international missed Thursday's European game against Malmö due to a back injury.

“Hopefully it’s settling down,” Dyche stated as he got ready to face Fabian Hürzeler's team, who have secured seven points from their last three outings.

“It’s like a bad back, but a waking-up sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not anticipating, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s improving already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be fine for the weekend.”

Murillo was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring muscle after the 3-0 Europa League win, but Dyche indicated the player “is expected to be okay”.

However, Ola Aina (thigh injury), the midfielder (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to be unavailable.

6. Glasner: European Loss Will Not Hinder Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner feels that the setback of midweek's Conference League loss to the French side is a indication of how far the club has advanced in challenging on multiple fronts.

The FA Cup winners went ahead at Stade de la Meinau through Tyrick Mitchell's opening period goal but were pegged back by Liam Rosenior's team, who climbed to second in the group standings.

The Eagles now return to domestic competition with a home fixture against the Red Devils, and Glasner is optimistic his team can keep up their challenge for a top four place.

“Similar to the late loss against Everton, it just feels that it was completely unnecessary and it is our fault,” Glasner remarked. “However, we have to take it on the chin. The commitment was there but it is a game we ought not to have lost.”

Glasner confirmed that Borna Sosa would not be available for the weekend's match after he did not travel to France, but Will Hughes, who was substituted during the first half against Strasbourg, should be in the matchday squad.
